(And my patient hubby is very grateful that my agonizing saga with Word section break anomalies is over. How do I remove a 'section break (continuous)' in a word 2010 document 10 different people have been editing this paper, and now it's in my lap. :D Extend Office folks-you rock! I will be recommending your brilliant add-ins to my other techy family and friends. THEN-opened up the copy of the book (final edited copy due today, btw), ran Kutools "remove section breaks"-and VOILA! NO MORE SECTION BREAKS! YAY! Happy, happy me. After installation, I tried Kutools on a small 5 page doc -inserting section breaks and page breaks, then removed them easily. So next, I made a new copy of the doc and downloaded Kutools for Word. How do I hide the Paragraph marks and other formatting If the marks appear and you want to hide them, simply find the Paragraph Marks button and press it again. Press the button and all your formatting will become visible. Not cool to have to do all that work over again-about 10-12 hours of re-formatting. In Word for Mac, the Show Paragraph marks button is handily already in the top toolbar. I used the VBA Macro as well (in a copy of the document, as a trial.) The only way that worked was after clearing ALL the formatting in the entire book. Most breaks I was able to delete using your directions for Find/Replace, but STILL- seven breaks remained that were hidden. Click Home > Replace (or press Ctrl + H keys simultaneously) to open the Find and Replace dialog box.
Thank you, thank you! I'm editing a book for an author (300 pages) and couldn't get rid of the 27 section breaks, even after following advice from online MS experts. You can also remove all section breaks from current Word document with the Find and Replace feature in Word.
